It was great meeting everyone today and I had a lot of fun even though the wind turned my dog & I around early. Looking forward to the next one & Happy Halloween everyone.

Agreed, it was fun to meet everyone up there today despite the windy conditions. I'll echo Terry in saying thanks to Noelle for making the cookies for post climb, and a big thank you to Jim for organizing the climb!

What a great day meeting everyone! I was on the summit for a little over an hour, and the wind kept getting calmer until it was a balmy 20 mph breeze (i'm guessing).

Nice to see some old friends again and make a few new ones. Might as well get used to the wind and cold now. Winter is coming. \:D/

and a HUGE thanks to the woman and her awesomely-costumed friend who stopped and gave me handwarmers. (even took off her own gloves to open up the package and activate it.) that was incredibly nice and completely saved my day.

Top three things to do after the third annual 14ers winter welcomer:

1.) Take off boots
2.) Crack open an ice cold beer
3.) Enjoy a Mt. Quandary gingerbread cookie with great company

Scramble that was my friend Deb, she was happy to pay it forward. She's not on here, so I'll make sure to tell her you said Thanks! Hope they helped :D
Although we didn't make it to the summit, it was nice to meet everyone. And yes, nature was calling Stonebaez, I really am sorry I thought you were mountainhiker and he is used to seeing that event, haha. You were moving too darn fast.....
Oh, and Terry the irish coffee rocked! I am gonna do that for my next hike. Tho I might have to find a smaller thermos.
I'm sorry I missed out on Noel's cookies, but she said she'd make me a Bronco one in the future (right Noel  ) Maybe one with some "Tebowing" going on?

I am in the front, light blue jacket. It was great to meet everyone yesterday! I did more chatting at the trailhead since the summit was so windy and cold.
I reposted the pic on facebook 14ers if you want to tag yourself there, too.

Take a look at this compact, lightweight thermos. I carry it on cold weather days with some warm tea or apple cider. Drinks stay hot, which was a nice treat yesterday on Quandary. You can get them a bit bigger too - but this is the perfect size for me......and still have enough to share.

It was great seeing everyone!!
Here are a few more scenes from our latest 14ers episode...

Ms. Veronicas reminds us to never forget the freedoms we enjoy in America.

Image

Ever the philanthropist, Mr. Mathews is on hand offering free breathalizer tests.

Image

Is Carl really going to ski that thing with those things?

Image

Four left to number ten? Woo-hoo!!!

Image

One should never forget that hallucinations at altitude are not an uncommon occurrance.

Image

And thank goodness for Noel's lovely pair of cookies.

Image

Sister Dorothy climbed the ridge, heard our confessions, and absolved our sins. (She is sworn to secrecy, isn't she?)

Image

Improvements such as these gas-log campfires are a welcome addition.

Image

A very nice shot of the Cookie Queen on the summit. I understand she and Ms. Veronicas are very hardy alpinists, nearly immune to cold and high winds.

Image

Thanks everyone! Let's get together again soon!!
