First 14er: 10/15/11

Postby MtnAddict » Sun Oct 16, 2011 11:49 am

Just moved to CO in April and wanted to get one 14er in before the big snows and was running short on time. Planned a week out (watching the weather) to hit Pikes Peak Saturday. Started at Barr TH around 4am and reached the summit at 1:30. A lot more snow than I thought, really glad I had the MicroSpikes and gaiters. Thanks for all the info, awesome forum.

Way to go! Bagging peaks is addictive. Knock off the rest in your own style and most of all have fun.

That's impressive, I lived in colorado for 15 or 16 years before I climbed a 14er.

...and you didn't exactly start with a short, easy one, either. Way to go!
