Yesterday, Saturday, August 27, on my way back down from the South Colony 4WD parking area, I had to pull over for a person driving a silver sedan. I'm pretty sure it was a recent model Chevy Impala, but it might have been the silver Nissan Altima in the OP. I couldn't believe it! He had made it past what I thought were some pretty steep, rough, spots that I had to think twice about on my way up in my 4WD Dodge Dakota. He was probably about a mile from the parking area. This was at about 3:30 p.m. or so. Did anybody else see this car?

I'm amazed any ordinary car could get past the radio towers.

It's a tough job, but someone has to photograph the mountain.

As long as they learn from their mistakes. I ran into a gal on Lindsay waaaay back. Found her wandering around in the boulders. She said it was her third attempt at the summit but her batteries kept dying on her GPS unit (when they first came out)during each attempt and she kept missing the route...She did not make it that day either. 8-[

This story reminds me of the douche that took his Impreza up a 4WD trail just to finish it off. A couple of weeks later he had to ask the 4x4 community to go pull it out for him. They towed it out of there with a strap for about a 1/4 of a mile hitting every rock on the way down......
