Mosquito - Tenmile Traverse

Post by Sugar Madison »

In case anyone is interested, Peter Bakwin (pbakwin) is making another attempt at the full Mosquito - Tenmile traverse today. He started last night at Weston Pass and it headed to Frisco. 38 miles, 2x 14ers, 24x 13ers, and 8x 12,500'+ peaks in one push.

Looks like he's moving well (just finished Clinton, headed to Wheeler) from his SPOT page:

The area he's in now is the most technically difficult. I think Buzz Burrell is joining him for this stretch.

Un-freakin-believable route is that! I remember reading that thread last year wondering how a person even comes up with an idea like that. Killer, and thanks for the heads up on his progress.

Get it, Peter!

pbakwin wrote:I calculate the whole traverse from Weston Pass to Frisco at 38 miles with very roughly 17,000 feet of ascending and 20,000 feet of descending. I count 34 named peaks, points and significant unnamed summits from Weston Peak to Peak 1 (see below). There are 2 14ers (Sherman & Democrat), 24 13ers and 8 12ers (Peaks 1-8).
