Snow shoeing/ alpine trek first and second weekend in April

Postby hipigrl » Thu Mar 10, 2011 5:24 pm

Hey dear mountaineers.
Coming in from back east for some more adventures in the Rockies. Looking for an alpine experience w/snowshoes on a moderate peak. Will be in CO Springs area during the week but am mobile on the weekends. Any takers? Suggestions?

James Peak (13294') out of St Marys Glacier.........
Easy access off I-70 and a good snowshoe challenge; about 7 miles round trip and a most rewarding summit.
Have a great trip! :)

Hey Melissa,

I sent you a message on FB. Just let me know which weekend and what day and I should be able to join you. Were you still thinking St. Mary's/James Peak. I haven't done either one so that should be fun!

Great Steve! I am thinking the first Sunday might work best for me that would be the 3rd April. Does that work for you? I will likely want to take a day to get acclimated....
Gonzalj would you like to join us? I would be up for something the following Sat as well....

Hey Melissa, count me in for Sunday. What were you thinking of doing the following Sat? Keep me posted as to what time we will be meeting at the TH and so forth. I see we have a couple of others that want to tag along, maybe we can all car pool.

Hey Melissa what about Colorado Mines Peak-Mt. Eva-Mt. Flora the following Saturday? I've been wanting to do that for a while. If you like the idea I will open a post for it.
