Ice Climb with an old rookie???

Postby iceman » Wed Dec 15, 2010 9:21 am

Any of you experienced ice climbers care to drag a rookie out near Glenwood Springs. I have been out a couple times in Redstone and Vail and really enjoyed it.

Any chance the falls are forming up?

I doubt if anything is in yet. I could not find any current beta. Just trying to get some weekends booked up.

Ouray is good. RMNP is also okay but with avalanche danger on many routes.

Silverplume - In
Boulder Canyon Ice - In but thin
Lincoln Falls - In
Clear Creek Canyon - Bone Dry (We need snow for it to start forming!)

Vail - I have not went up there yet but I heard the Dez fell 5 feet from touchdown. The fang fell. Dez might have reformed. Spiral Staircase looks in from pictures.

Many things in Ouray are in and the Ice Park is opening here very soon!

Hope this helps!
