adding pics from external sites to trip reports

Postby clemsonmtneer » Mon May 03, 2010 7:03 pm

Has anyone else ever had trouble trying to link a picture from an external site to a trip report? I'm writing up a few trip reports from last summer, and want to add more than 30 pictures, but everytime I post the URL from my Flickr page and highlight with [img] it doesn't work when I preview it. I don't want to have to cut to below 30 pics every time if I don't have to, so if anyone has any suggestions that'd be awesome.

You're not copying in the specific JPG url, but a URL to a page on Flickr. For example, in your current, inactive TR this is what yuo've pasted in:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/12493523@N04/3913208076/sizes/l/in/set-72157622223783577/

I looked on Flickr and this is the proper URL of your image:
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2643/3913208076_5f86236efc_b.jpg

Let me know how you make out.

The pic URL MUST have a JPG suffix for the {img] tags to work. Sometimes the JPG is screened with some numbers to prevent linking. Simply delete everything after the jpg. YMMV
