ski and snowboard expo 11/7-11/9

Postby lodidodi » Tue Nov 04, 2008 9:44 am

Anybody ever been to this? Do they have any good deals? I'm looking for kids ski helmets, mens gloves, and womens snowboard bindings.

I think tickets are $12 at the door, u can print off a $2 dollar coupon or get tickets advanced for $9. 12 and under are free.

Check out the Denver area's greatest ski & snowboard season kickoff event, the Colorado Ski & Snowboard Expo, at the Colorado Convention Center, November 7-9, 2008. Exhibitors from mountain resorts from near and far will be on hand, as well as tour operators and ski & snowboard equipment manufacturers with the latest info on this year’s best gear.

There will be high flying action in the Honda “Rocky Mountain Snowdown” featuring the DNA Rail Jam, a Kids Snow-Play area where the youngsters can actually try skiing or snowboarding, and much more for all ages. Topping it all off is Colorado Ski & Golf’s multi-million dollar ski and snowboard sale.

Both of my snowboards and virtually all of my gear was bought at this event. I got my Burton Custom-X last year for about 40% off. As with anything you have to make sure you aren't paying more than you should but you can get good deals. Friend of mine got her skis there cheap last year as well. It's basically a Colorado Ski&Golf sale that just doesn't happen to be at the store.

I've never been to that one. I wil say though, that the best deals on equipment can be had at the end of the season. SNIAGRAB is a joke, and SkiRex isn't much better. But when spring rolls around Sports Authority does their end of season sales at a couple of locations that are pretty good. Lots of cheap bindings, skinny skis, poles, helmets, and outerwear. I picked up a pair of Look womens bindings (DIN 3-9) a couple of seasons ago for my wife at the SA sale for under $20.

Still it might be worth the ~$10 though just to go play and check out gear.
Where ever you are... There you are.

I went to it a couple years ago. Like Jon said, the sale portion is just like a Colorado Ski & Golf sale. They carry some nice equipment so if you missed the sale at the stores in Sept. and Oct. (I assume it's over but maybe not) this is more of the same. They had 40 to 50% off goggles, gloves, helmets, etc. when I went. The ski resorts will have booths set up too where you can get cheap four packs that you may not be able to score online.

Cruiser is right about SNIAGRAB and SkiRex. The prices are lower at the store at the end of March.

thanks, i REALLY need to find a 2007/2008 O-Matic Awesome 155W board, been looking for about 8 months for one and they're nowhere to be found. I would just buy a 2008/2009, but the color of the 2007/2008 is KILLER!! (lime green)

Keep in mind that if Colorado Ski&Golf doesn't normally sell it then you probably won't find it. Give them a call if you aren't sure.

I went last year and got some equip. and discounted lift tickets as was previously mentioned. Also looks like Glenn Plaake (sp) will be there. He's pretty cool and exudes high energy just signing autographs.
