Route Map Updates!

Postby BillMiddlebrook » Tue Nov 12, 2013 1:14 pm

I've updated the route Google Map pages to provide easier navigation to nearby peaks on the map. You can now click on the nearby peak links (right of map) and the map will position to that peak and display the peak popup, which includes peak page and weather links.

For example, if you're viewing the list of Routes for Grays+Torreys, the Google map at the bottom of the page includes all of the route lines and will look like this:

When you click on the peak links to the right, the map will position accordingly.

If you're viewing a specific route, click the "Google Map/MyTopo" button to display a map which includes only the selected route and, again, allows you to jump between peaks using the peak links on the right. And if you click the Image icon to the right of the map, you'll find a larger map which allows you to change the distance of nearby 13ers displayed on the map:

To avoid redundancy on route descriptions, the previous "Nearby Peaks" button has been removed and all of the functionality is now in the routes' Google Map.

These are nice updates, but I'm still having a hard time figuring out how to get to the loft from wild basin.

The maps now display check marks next to peaks you've climbed...
