If anyone encounters an error or bug in the TR system, please post there. The merge of 13er and 14er TRs involved a ton of changes. I just have a few minor changes left.

The new system should be much easier to use!

Trip Reports Search field

Postby BillMiddlebrook » Sun Feb 25, 2007 10:46 am

I just added a SEARCH FOR on the trip reports main page. This allows you to search for a keyword in addition to the other criteria.

Also, if you enter a search keyword and click on a resulting report, the keyword will be <span style="background-color: #FFFF00">highlighted</span> in the report text

Thanks! Although I still have a few more mods to make to the TR system, I hope people find it useful and easy to use.

Programming: Sorry, but I have my hands full, and you wouldn't want to see my hourly rates! :D

Printing TRs

Postby BillMiddlebrook » Fri Mar 02, 2007 1:17 pm

I just added a Printer-Friendly link on each trip report - from the new page you can resize photos or display them as thumbnails. When viewing a report, look for "View Printer-Friendly Version" link on the upper right.

TR Photos

Postby BillMiddlebrook » Wed Mar 07, 2007 9:55 pm

Now, 15 photos can be uploaded to a TR instead of 10.
Also, I changed the program to resize the photos to 600 pixels instead of 500. I will probably increase the photo size again this summer.

TRs with Multiple Peaks

Postby BillMiddlebrook » Thu Mar 08, 2007 1:14 pm

In an effort to make the ADD TRIP REPORT page faster and more efficient, I've changed the way it works when you need to add 3 or more peaks. Now, you can enter in the first 2 peaks, but the remaining peaks are added using a pop-up selection window. Select the additional peaks and hit 'Submit' to have them populated the ADD page. This was done to reduce the amount of HTML that is generated on the main page. It now loads much faster...

This is how the top of the ADD TRIP REPORT page looks now:

And this is the pop-up that's displayed if you need to select more than 2 peaks:

Editing TRs

Postby BillMiddlebrook » Sat Mar 10, 2007 6:24 pm

I just revamped the trip report EDIT page to allow re-uploading of individual photos, deleting photos, etc. It now has a lot more functionality. Here's a screen shot of Add/Change Uploads portion of the page...

Now you can EDIT your trip report votes! If you've voted on a TR and want to change it, just log into the voting area at the base of the report, select a new vote and click "Change Vote".

NOTICE: As of 3/16/2007, voting is no longer anonymous.

Re: TRIP REPORT PAGES

You can now insert YouTube videos into a trip reports. Just like in a forum post, enter the YouTube video ID string (it's after the "v=" in the URL of your YouTube video) into the trip report and hit the "YouTubeVideo" button to wrap the tags around it. The video will then show up in-line within the trip report.

You can now upload TR photos with an original size of 8.0 megapixels or smaller. The previous limit was 5mp. Once uploaded, your photos will be resized down to a much smaller size for practical viewing on the site.
Do you have a slow Internet connection? If so, it is recommended that you resize your photos down to 640x480 pixels (or smaller) before uploading. If you have dialup and try to upload 20 8.0megapixel photos, it will take hours.
