NEW! Route Selector Page

Postby BillMiddlebrook » Wed Aug 20, 2008 2:01 pm

I'm in the process of adding a new tool to the site - a ROUTE SELECTOR page. Using this page, you can narrow a list of routes down to those based on selected criteria. It's still under construction and I plan to add the following criteria groups to the page:
- Max Distance from Denver
- Route Stability
- Defined Trail
and more...

I will also be adding some of the standard routes that are missing from the site (Snowmass, Pikes), they just won't have route description links if they fall under your search results.

I figured it would be helpful for some people that are new to the peaks.

I'll update this thread as I modify the page.

Nice program! That'll be very helpful I'm sure. Hope you didn't stay up too late writing that one!

Just added "Mountain Range" to the criteria.

Thanks!
I will probably change the selections from radio buttons to drop-down selection boxes so the page doesn't get too large.

Bill,

This is totally awesome! I can see where this could be helpful in a lot of cases.

One small suggestion though. Do you think it could be done so you can select more than one criteria from each menu? For example, I might be looking for either a class 1, class 2, or difficult class 2 climb, or I might be OK with either level 1, 2, or 3 exposure. Is there a way I could select all those at the same time?

Thanks again for your efforts!
