TRIP REPORTS - Larger Photos

Postby BillMiddlebrook » Sun May 04, 2008 6:23 pm

Previously, when you uploaded photos to a 14ers.com trip report, the system just resized them to 640 pixels and that was it. Now, the system will create the following for each of your uploads:
SMALL SIZE = 640 pixels wide (or high)
LARGE SIZE = 1,024 pixels wide (or high)

When viewing your TR, people can click on a photo (the smaller one) to open up a window with the new, larger one.

Note: If you are linking to photos on another site, the process hasn't changed.

Climbing partner: "Is this uphill the whole way?"
Kojones: "No, only half the hike is uphill."

You still can't upload photos larger than 8MP because it causes too much load on the server. So, if you're taking 10MP, you'll still have to resize them down a bit before uploading. But it's no longer necessary to resize them real small or it won't create the 1,024-pixel wide versions.
