4 14ers in 4 hours!

Postby dukex2x01 » Sun Aug 12, 2007 3:48 pm

Yeah I know what you're thinking. Not even doable. Oh yes it's not doable it's donable! lol. WE hiked up to Democrat Cameron Lincoln and Bross and started at 6:20 and summitted Bross at 10:22. I felt pretty accomplished! This is my 7th peak in 3 weekends. Thinking of doing Longs next weekend. Intense!!! Any advice?

I'm glad you feel accomplished, but you should realize that your presence on those peaks is not repectful of the wishes of private landowners. I was going to post a link to the official thread, but it looks like you've already seen it and posted in it.
...And my memory shall serve me in the way that memories do:
To conjure bygone times, and shine them bright anew,
To erase the strain of effort from faces of the past,
And resurrect slight triumphs as glories unsurpassed...

Any advice? How about thinking next time before you brag on about climbing where you shouldn't be. If you spend ANY time on this site you'd know that those peaks are still off limits and your "donable" climbs could jepardize access for the rest of us.

LOL, Cameron isn't even official.

Sorry, I shouldn't bump this thread, it's not worth it.

I hate to rain on your parade, but the last time I did the 4-peak combo (before the closure, of course), I finished round-trip to the trailhead in 4 hours, 15 minutes. That probably put me at 3 hours and 30 minutes to the summit of Bross, and I'm an old fart!

If we can hike it in 4 hours, just think of how quick those 14er runners and superfit hikers can complete that circuit. I'm always amazed when I'm hiking along at a good pace and someone runs past me (up and down!) before I get to the top. Amazing.

The only reason I can climb! And as Bill says, that's probably only an average time for those mountains.

Congrats. You managed to hike 4 of Colorado's easiest peaks in a time just a bit less than average.
