Interesting K2 Reunion

Postby Andy » Mon Dec 04, 2006 4:12 pm

I stumbled across this Newsweek article about a reunion of the descendents of the '53 K2 expedition where Pete Schoening miraculously saved the team with his ice axe belay while they were attempting to rescue Art Gilkey.

It never occurred to me that prominant Colorado climber George Bell is the son of the George Bell in that famous K2 expedition.
