Marciamallow Finishes the 14ers!

Postby Buckshot Jake » Sun Sep 22, 2013 5:57 pm

Battling white out conditions and a blizzard from the south, marciamallow finished the list of 58 on Mt. Democrat! I first met Marcia on Capitol and since we have tackled some of the more difficult 14ers. This meant a lot more than just a checklist. Congratulations!

Looks like between 'em they done Tried to make me
Stop laughin', stop lovin', stop livin'-- But I don't care! I'm still here!

Marcia and Nick helped raise more than $500 for Colorado flood victims on this hike. You guys rok!

Congratulations! I don't know if you remember, but I met you on El Diente! (I was hiking with my daughter and 2 friends.) I'm afraid I'm still slogging through the 14ers, but it's nice to see others have some drive and ambition! On to the 13ers! :-)

Congratulations, Marcia! Sorry I couldn't make it. It was a pleasure hiking Culebra with you and I hope to keep seeing you at the Happy Hours.

“There are two kinds of climbers: those who climb because their heart sings when they’re in the mountains, and all the rest.” - Alex Lowe

"There have been joys too great to describe in words, and there have been griefs upon which I cannot dare to dwell; and with those in mind I say, 'Climb if you will, but remember that courage and strength are nought without prudence, and that a momentary negligence may destroy the happiness of a lifetime. Do nothing in haste, look well to each step, and from the beginning think what may be the end.'" - Edward Whymper
