Climbing Pioneer Herb Conn passed away at 91

These guys were more famous for caving then climbing by the 80's. Jan Conn played guitar at my wedding over 30 years ago. Funny, I had no idea at that time, she was the first female to ascend Devils Tower. They climbed in tennis shoes and homemade harnesses. They are legend in the Black Hills.

Another legend passes on. What a colorful and memorable life and stellar climbing career he had. He lived the dream and influenced multiple generations of American climbers. Condolences to his wife, Jan, and to his family and many friends. May his free and adventurous spirit rest in peace forever.
