Congratulations sgladbach!

Postby Ridge runner » Mon Feb 28, 2011 5:00 pm

Congratulations to Steve Gladbach! I just got word that he finished today on Evans and became the 4th person to complete the 14ers in calendar winter. He was joined by a great group of friends and fellow climbers, and I hear there was some good celebrations on top despite the winds.

An unbelievable accomplishment. Congratulations Steve!
“There are two kinds of climbers: those who climb because their heart sings when they’re in the mountains, and all the rest.” - Alex Lowe

"There have been joys too great to describe in words, and there have been griefs upon which I cannot dare to dwell; and with those in mind I say, 'Climb if you will, but remember that courage and strength are nought without prudence, and that a momentary negligence may destroy the happiness of a lifetime. Do nothing in haste, look well to each step, and from the beginning think what may be the end.'" - Edward Whymper

Way to go Steve. That is an extraordinary amount of courage, stamina and perseverance. Unless I am mistaken I believe many if not most of those were accomplished solo. That is just amazing.
