Can either of you discuss conditions and route taken? I would like to follow in your footsteps.
We drove FS 861 to just past the crossing of Slaughterhouse Creek where a obvious 'road' turns left (west) into a nice camping area in a meadow just NE of the creek at 10,400'. The route we took went up the SE ridge from our campsite. Cross the creek to the SW and head up the hill 50 yards to an old logging road. Turn west on the road and follow a series of old roads west ~.75 miles til the roads end, and then follow the ridge west through the trees to timberline. From there the route is obvious up the SE ridge.
