Ice Lakes Basin

Post by beatlust »

Any route/linkup suggestions for the ice lakes basin area? I have been up there before, but we didnt have the weather to climb. I won't be taking rope and rack unless I have some really big idea...I left my book of scrambles with lots of ice lakes basin info in my bro-in-laws car and he's loonng gone. Any beta is good beta...

All the peaks in the basin are fun but I think Pilot Knob is the best with a unique class 4 scramble. If your comfortable with exposure, a rope should not be needed.

My trip report for all the peaks in the area that includes beta.

US Grant Peak, V2, V4

Pilot Knob, Golden Horn and Vermilion. My route up Vermilion is the non-standard route. The standard route has less class 3 climbing
