Pawnee Pass conditions
Does anyone know what the snow conditions are like on the Pawnee Pass Trail all the way to the pass? Are crampons or snowshoes necessary? I'd like to hike Pawnee Peak and Mt. Toll. Thanks

Re: Pawnee Pass conditions
I can't see ever needing crampons to get to Pawnee Pass. I would imagine you won't need snowshoes now. I'm climbing Audubon tomorrow night... I can at least give you an idea of the snow levels in the general area if nobody else chimes in.

Re: Pawnee Pass conditions
I don't know about about Pawnee Pass but I can't imagine needing snow shoes or crampons. I was in the Blue Lake basin last Sunday and carried snowshoes all the way to the top of Aududon and didn't use them. Crampons might be handy if you snow climb Mount Toll. As of last Sunday there was a continuous snow field from Blue Lake to the top of Mount Toll. There was also a wide line of bare rock to the top of Mount Toll if you'd prefer to boot it. Pawnee Peak looked mostly dry.

Re: Pawnee Pass conditions
There was a fatal car crash on the Peak to Peak tonight, so we couldn't get to Brainard Lake. We went up from Rainbow Lakes instead, towards S Arapahoe. We stopped our run around 12,200' but up to that point there was no snow at all... I can't see needing snowshoes for Pawnee.
