Has anybody ever hiked North Fork #868 from Zapata Falls, trail splits of the South Zapata Creek and heads up the south side of California Peak. Any info would be much appreciated?

This trip report from month or two ago may be what you're referring to... not sure if this is the exact route you had in mind though. The title lists it as west slopes, but the GPS track indicates that the south side was traversed.

Yeah, that is it. Thanks, I was looking to do this in a few weeks as well.
