Shoot! I'm in Chicago part of that week and weekend... :(
Might be able to make Sunday, but would be a s-t-r-e-t-c-h.

Count me in as well. Bull Hill route on Saturday, TBD on Sunday (probably either La Plata, Oklahoma, or French/Frasco/Casco).

My wife and I have put Friday night car camp/Saturday up Elbert on our calendars. We probably won't decide on a route until the day before.

In. I'll probably do anything other the East Ridge route Saturday since I've ascended that way twice. Sunday's up in the air, likely one of the Centennial options.

Do nothing in haste, look well to each step, and from the beginning think what may be the end.'" - Edward Whymper

I would love to join the Bull Hill group if that group isn't 'full'. Really want to get Bull Hill and maybe jog over and touch South Elbert a well. I'd be a Saturday only non-camper by the way.

I will definitely be there. I'll probably camp somewhere Friday night, climb on Saturday - route TBD, and then camp Saturday night. I'd really like to sit around the campfire some night and listen to and tell "Steve stories". Then leave Sunday morning.

Chicago Transplant wrote:nkan02: Black Cloud is marked, but with a very small wooden sign directly at the turnoff so its very easy to fly by at 50+MPH on CO 82 (I passed it when I climbed Bull Hill the first time). Its right before the small Mt Elbert Lodge and no more than 1/2 mile after the Twin Lakes CG when traveling from Twin Lakes. (Both are on the left, Black Cloud is on the right). When you get to Twin Lakes CG, start keeping your eyes peeled, if you pass it, turn around in the Mt Elbert Lodge parking lot and swing back around.

That sign is turned toward the road, rather than toward oncoming traffic, so it is easy to miss. At least it was the last time I was up there.

Anna- Count me in. I also will likely stay and do a another peak Sunday as well.

Britt- I'd certainly like to share a few short comments about Steve on camera. Also, totally down to try Elbert from the Highway 82 side as well.

I'm in.

I would be interested in doing the Bull run as well.
