July 20-21 Sangres 14ers anyone?

Postby TheOtherIndian » Tue Jul 16, 2013 2:02 pm

Hi, I am interested in either KC/Challenger or Crestone Peak this weekend. If anyone is heading up that way and wouldn't mind an addition to their party, let me know

Thanks

I would normally be interested, but the weather's looking dicey this weekend for the Sawatch and the Sangres.

You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know. - Rene Daumal

I'd be really interested in a 7/27 attempt at Crestone Peak. Been really wanting to hike this one since last year. Had two friends bail already this year. My GF is really giving me flack on this one and doesn't want me to do it solo.. ](*,)

Hey guys,
I'm looking to head that way this weekend as well but don't have specific plans or partners. I'd be up for some challenging 3/4 stuff but didn't want to do it alone. Would love to tag along at KC/C or Crestone traverse. Will likely head down fri evening to camp then climb sat an sun. Let me know if I can fit in somewhere. Thanks!

I know some of you are looking to camp at Willow Lake.

Anyone here interested in a Sunday climb (7/21) of Kit Carson and Challenger, with a camp near the TH Saturday and a very early start Sunday?

Leave from Denver around noon Saturday. Camp at TH.

Start Sunday between 2:30 and 3:00 AM from TH, weather dependent.

Arrive at Lake around 5:00 AM.

Thanks Steve

If the weather looks good, I may meet you and "The Other Indian" at the Lake Sunday morning and we can continue from there.

A group of us (5) will be heading up to South Colony lakes this Saturday afternoon, with a climb of Crestone Peak Sunday Morning. You're more than welcome to join.
