I would love to see a report after this trip if possible. Planning on this duo for Memorial Weekend, if not too much snow. I'm ok with it, but my hiking partners are not into the snow.
Enjoy the trip!

Thanks so much for organizing this trip! I had a great time and enjoyed meeting everyone. I also couldn't believe our luck with the weather today! (although I was disappointed at how much the Angel had softened up by the descent--the "glissade that wasn't"; I don't think I've ever put quite that much effort into trying to get a glissade to work before)

Hope you all have fun on your hikes tomorrow!

Here's a pic of the conga line heading up the Angel on Saturday:

Snowshoes needed? If so, at what sections?

I'd say above the angel on the way up they would have been nice (I was jealous of those who had them), and definitely below treeline on the way down.

Omg what an amazing ride down. Wasn't too warm today. Didn't need snow shoes at all. A couple and myself started at 530 am they continued on to Tab and I rode down. No one else on the mountain all day. Amazing I shreded the angle or the lack of =D>

Glad we weren't scared off by the weather forecast. Some light snow but mostly good weather. We were hoping for a better glissade! It was great seeing everyone. Thanks to SurfNTurf for organizing.

Thanks to everyone who made it out! It was great to see old friends and make some new ones.

The weather was much better than forecasted, with the worst we had to deal with being light snow showers that only lasted a few minutes. The mornings and evenings were gorgeous.

Anyone do Jennings Creek? Would appreciate any road/trailhead conditions info as well as any gear information (i.e. what you brought or wish you had brought or wish you didn't bring!)

thanks!

A few tried to approach Jennings Creek this last weekend - road conditions deteriorated and were snowpacked and drifted to within about 2 miles of the TH (or approx 10,200' elevation), so they turned around. I would expect a week of good melt will clear the road so this coming weekend might be a better chance. If it's like the Angel, go early and anticipate a slushy, deep post-hole day after about 10-11 am, regardless of snowshoes.
