Christmas Eve Day/Christmas Day 14er?

Postby SherpaSara » Mon Dec 17, 2012 5:43 pm

Anybody up for climbing a 14er either on Christmas Eve Day or Christmas Day...or both...or an overnight?

I'm pretty much open to hiking anywhere in the Front Range, Sawatch, or Sangres.

I'd be open for Christmas Eve. I have to wait and see if I need to work - but if I don't, then I'm in.

Grays/Torrey's or Evans or Bierstadt work (then I could ski Loveland for Christmas if nobody wants to hike).

My wife and I may be open for Christmas Day. Which 14er are you thinking of hiking?

Edit: Sorry, I didn't see your last post.

I have to work Xmas Eve, but I would be very interested in doing a 14er in the Sawatch on Xmas Day (such as Princeton, Harvard, Belford-Oxford, Shavano, Antero). Let me know if have any interest in something like that. Thanks.

Given the forecast, skiing looks to be a better alternative

What about Mt Princeton via the SouthWest Ridge from the Grouse Canyon Trailhead? ...shorter than the standard route, but very steep....

Anyone make a decision on which peak?

Looks like a storm might be coming in on Sunday night/Monday, so conditions might suck, along with avy danger. So I'm just going to keep watching it and make a decision on Sunday.
