LCW gathering II - Bison Peak on Saturday 2/11

Postby Brian Thomas » Thu Dec 29, 2011 7:24 pm

Bison Peak is the highest peak in the Lost Creek Wilderness, albeit only a 12er (which sadly means no boxes checked on your 14ers.com profile), but nevertheless needs to be summited.

Derek organized last year's foray to Platte Peak (a lowly 11er), but this year we're gonna aim high. 12,431' high to be exact. I summited Bison last February, and want to again. Please post or PM if interested, carpools from Denver, Springs and/or points beyond to be coordinated as the time approaches.

Ha! Put up a nice fight for a lowly one, huh?

Funny, I was just wondering the other day if we should do this gathering again. Bison in February? Count me in. Can't say no to my favorite Colorado summit, no matter how many times I've been there. :)

Bison is sweet. I'm there, so long as I'm in the state!

I don't know of any potential conflicts right now so I'll put myself as a tentative yes. I've been up Bison twice and I'm definitely game for a third trip.

I could be interested, depending on weather!

As far as I know I do not have anything that will prohibit me from joining in on this one. I want to see Darrin put on his slippers and monkey around some of them summit boulders up there.

This would be a good one to get back on the horse for... Count me as a yes for now.

snow won't be too deep for my horse, will it?

I've heard awesome things about Bison! If I can find a way to get there and don't have any kind of conflict, count me in...

I'm tentatively in-- Brian let me know if you have a spare seat in your vehicle.

Were you going start from Ute Creek or Lost Park?
