Yes, but I told my wife I'd be skiing, so please don't tell her I'm on a 14er again.

Nice!! Hopefully your mortality rate is a bit better than Kenny's... Although he always comes back, his super power what have you.

Based on using these forecasts for 2 years.. it's going to be cold. I'll be disguised as the kid from Christmas Story. See y'all up there!

Michael, I can see you're trying to help with the potential parking problem here with the boys from the DEN NOAA office.

Seriously, though, take a look at the "hourly forecast" on that page. It's a link in the lower right hand corner. They're calling for the gusts to 55 at 6am, then tapering considerably into the 20s/30s by 9am.

Of course, they could be wrong.

not trying to scare anyone off, but Quandary is an island, so I'd be ready for it even if they weren't forecasting crazy wind. Bundle up and it's no big deal. But show up unprepared and you'll be calling it good at treeline..

for 5am-5pm, tabular forecast now shows constant wind 24-32, gusts 39-51. I'm expecting a pretty decent wind assist on the W ridge. 8)

Oh yeah and I'll have the anemometer to keep NOAA honest.

Planning to arrive around 9ish. Hopefully my snowblades, boots, rope, harness, saucer, and bottle of Jack don't slow me down too much to catch you guys.

Oh... Carl. Now you are making me want to go!

I found my new climbing partner...

In my experience, the sister site, www.snow-forecast.com, has been more accurate than NOAA

Looks like I am going to make it up tomorrow, I may have a buddy with me, it depends on if I can convince him the wind won’t be THAT bad.
Planning on leaving the trailhead around 8am. See you guys up there!
