Yes, but I told my wife I'd be skiing, so please don't tell her I'm on a 14er again.

Third Annual 14ers Winter Welcomer! (Update & RVSP)

Postby Dancesatmoonrise » Tue Oct 25, 2011 7:33 pm

Update - Planning on being there around 8, starting up around 8:30. Reconvene at Cristo point (around 12,100 on the ridge) at about 9:30 or 10:00. Shooting for the summit by Noon. Summit photos between Noon and 1pm.

Weather looks to be sunny and calm, with likely a foot of new, with possibly some drifting up to a couple feet. Snowshoes may be optional, especially with the large group, though snow totals will help determine that.

A couple folks will be doing recon on Friday so we may have early heads up on snow totals.

Jim

Edit - Quandary Peak, East Ridge (Class 1,) Saturday October 29.

If I haven't already done Quandary I'd be there but I'm doing Princeton instead this weekend. Have fun!

Needless to say, I'll be there. Aiming to arrive at the TH around 7:45 or 8:00.

Hi there,

can you pls provide some info on where and when this trip will be - assuming its not just for insiders (else why post)?
I have just joined this forum, in order to find new climbing partners for trail-breaking pursuits in winter.

Greetings mountainute

The original thread is 12 pages long. That's why Jim (Dances at moonrise) re-posted for final RSVP's. Far too big a group to be limited to insiders. :D

The group is headed up this Saturday, Oct 29, from the standard Quandary TH using the east Ridge route. Due to size of the group and the wide range of experience with hiking/skiing/snowshoeing, people are leaving the TH at a variety of times. You may want to peruse the original thread and send some PMs to nail down a specific sub-group. I'd offer myself, but I've had to back out. Most are leaving the TH around 8AM. Your profile info is mimimal, so its hard to say, but if you are a novice in snow, you may want to start earlier. I'm sending you a PM with the name of a guy who MAY be able to hook up with you. He'd be a good mentor (if you need one.)

Welcome,

Steve
