Wilsons!

Postby Boggy B » Tue Apr 19, 2011 6:46 pm

Plan has been to get my final three 14ers this spring when the snow is stable enough. It looks like the time has come! I'm thinking hike in day 1 and, time and energy permitting, climb Wilson Peak. Day 2 find a nice snow route up El Diente, traverse to Mt. Wilson, and hike down and out. Probably add a buffer day. Ideally superb weather for the traverse.

Haven't picked dates yet, but I'm thinking somewhere in 4/28-5/3 or 5/12-5/17.

Interest?

Well...I need El Diente and Wilson Peak and a snow climb of El Diente is really appealing given the fact that, that mountain seems to be crumbling upon itself.

Why do you think the snow pack is stable. I do not see that reading the avy reports.

Based on two recent TRs it appears stable enough for skiing, despite the CAIC.

I won't be on skis. Ascent of El Diente will be fairly early. And all routes are N-NW-W-SW facing (loading is NE-E-SE). :)

Michael, I also need the wilsons and ED and Sneffels. Was planning June, but could move that up a month.

Definitely interested but hectic schedule - Could you post the final dates once you have them and I'll see if I can join around then! For now, I know I can make it after May 13th (graduation) but before is up in the air.

I would like to do El D and Mt Wilson with the traverse but the 12th time frame doesn't work for me as it's my 20th anniversary and it could possibly be my last if I went. Perhaps we week or two after for me. Was looking at June....

John, put me down with you guys. Let's get Micah in on it too. He can do April 30/May 1, or Memorial day weekend, or possibly May 21/22.

I need all four, so I'd come down early for Sneffels first, and car camp for Wilsons and El D. Three days, two nights?

Michael, this will be your finisher, no? ...How can I miss that. =D> =D> =D>
