Ack! Just a gentle reminder that Sunday, May 8 is Mother's Day. I was just informed of this. I'm sure all of you were already aware and it's not going to alter my personal plans, but I thought it was worth mentioning just in case. If it does, please don't take it out on me. The date was chosen by a majority of voters in this thread, not by me.

Whatever Terry. ;)
My Mother is going to be pissed! (but given the fact she lives ~2000mi's away, she'll get over it if I'm not around;)
Maybe I'll call her from the summit!

For whatever it's worth, I climb Bierstadt every year on my b/day and call my Mother from the summit to thank her for having me and it absolutely makes her day! I think you should all burn up the air waves with calls to your Mom from the summit on the 8th.

I would recommend Quail Mtn... if I were going, that was the one I was most interested in. It should be fairly manageable without snow gear. You can join the Hope contingent and simply split off once you reach the saddle.

Also, with the size of the group, the campsite we used last time, just before the big switchback, would make the most sense for home base.

I'll do both! Hope and Quail are both on my 13er list to do

Just another reminder that 5/8 is Mother's Day. It's not that I'm discouraging anyone from attending that day, but I'd hate to have someone forget about it and face potential wrath from his/her mother/wife/sister/etc.!

Postby Marmot72 » Sun May 01, 2011 2:12 pm

Hi. I'm looking to leave from the Denver area Friday late afternoon (5-6)and come back Sunday...please PM if this works with your plans and you either a) have room for me or b) would like to ride along with me and share the cost of gas. Thank you!

I have phenomenal route-finding abilities. Specifically, I have an uncanny knack for selecting the path of most resistance.
