I'm going to be looking at doing the easiest routes on all the peaks...really because I don't have crampons. Have you ever tried to find winter boots and crampons for a size 17 foot??? It sucks!

I would recommend Quail Mtn... if I were going, that was the one I was most interested in. It should be fairly manageable without snow gear. You can join the Hope contingent and simply split off once you reach the saddle.

Also, with the size of the group, the campsite we used last time, just before the big switchback, would make the most sense for home base.

He won’t need snowshoes. Feet that size should provide floatation!

This is what you need, Matt:

EU size 50 is US men's size 17-17 1/2. You just need to buy the appropriate crampons, pop-out the link bars, and pop these in.

Very nice!! Thanks for finding that. However I think you need special boots to clamp the crampons to (the ones with a rigid metal plate in the sole) or can you put them on regular snow boots? I have snow boots but they don't have the rigid sole

This is the only one I can find in size 50 EU. They seem to be out-of-stock, but you might email them to see when they'll be back in stock and about shipping to the US. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

If no one else, I can shuttle you up and back, Eric. Let me know if no one else offers.

I can take you up there, Eric. I'd like to leave as soon as possible on Friday afternoon. Any chance you can be ready to go around 2:00 - 3:00pm?

Leaning towards yes!

I'm interested in Missouri via North Face Couloirs right now, probably just showing up for the climb. Sounds like a blast!
