Mental institution? Sounds like my kind of hiking partner...

P.S. I honestly spent many hours as a troubled youth playing my parents' vinyl LP of the Beatles' White Album "Revolution #9" backwards at varying speeds trying to locate the "message"

Well come on then, Eric. I'd love to get out again.

There's seven breezes blowin'
All around the cabin door
There's seven breezes blowin'
All around the cabin door
Seven shots ring out
Like the ocean's pounding roar...

OMG, yes. Listen to that thing in high-def - he's fifty feet out in front of you, alone, in the darkness. One of the most stark, artistic moments ever...

I hope that post isn't an omen, Jim. Are you moving to South Dakota anytime soon???

Hiking in Saturday, camping, and attempting a summit Sunday so far is sounding like the most popular option. That's good with me. But again I'm flexible -- I can leave work at 5 or 6 p.m. Friday and after that my weekend is wide open.

Now, I'll leave you with some REAL lyrics:

"Yesterday was Thursday, Thursday
Today i-is Friday, Friday (Partyin’)
We-we-we so excited
We so excited
We gonna have a ball today

Tomorrow is Saturday
And Sunday comes after...wards
I don’t want this weekend to end"

“There are two kinds of climbers: those who climb because their heart sings when they’re in the mountains, and all the rest.” - Alex Lowe

"There have been joys too great to describe in words, and there have been griefs upon which I cannot dare to dwell; and with those in mind I say, 'Climb if you will, but remember that courage and strength are nought without prudence, and that a momentary negligence may destroy the happiness of a lifetime. Do nothing in haste, look well to each step, and from the beginning think what may be the end.'" - Edward Whymper

Is that what I think it is?   I have no words.

Will you be playing that in your iPod on the way up San Luis?

Thread bump

Everything within a couple hours of Denver is looking "considerably" orange and scary on CAIC now, watching the weather and waiting on this one...

I know it's still early, but it looks like the Creede area (northern San Juan) is yellow for now. I agree that we need to keep an eye on it. Fingers crossed.

I was thinking of heading down to this one that weekend, Birthday is on the 11th so I always try and get a summit in around that time. I would be down with a carpool from the Springs also. I'd be on skis.
