Sorry guys....doesn't look as if I'll be able to make it without a ride to/from Monument. :(

Enjoy the sunshine down there. Be safe!

P.S. If anyone else from Colorado Springs ends up going on this....I'll split the gas with you!

I would love to join you guys on this trip....I don't have a lot of experience with snow climbing but do have crampons, ice axe, and the rest of the gear i may need for a winter climb....It wouldn't be like your taking a completely inexperienced person with you and i'm a adventurous quick learner.....I can also drive and pick you up in monument if you're still interested globreal

Kiefer, thanks for affording me the opportunity to join you and Steph for your winter summit of Little Bear. It was a long, trying day, but the company was good and I had a lot of fun. Mike and Dani -- sorry, I wasn't able to get any photos of you guys! Thanks for the chocolates, btw!

Pretty much sums up how we all felt near the end of the day. I don't know why I choose to torture myself with this route; it's the second time I've done it in the last year. I have now been up for over 26 hours. I am going to eat and enter a food coma for the next 12 hours. Hope everyone had a great Saturday!

Good work gang. I was wishing I could have been there but now that I see that pic of Kiefer "tired"........ Happy everyone is down safely. Was thinking about you all day.

Thanks Jim, Barry. Yeah, that "tired" photo is tell-tale; we hit the trail around 5:45 (got a later start than anticipated) and ran out of daylight on our way down, so we had to bushwhack out in the dark. I have a twisted ankle for our efforts (it isn't bad and I was able to walk out under my own power). We made it back to the vehicles at 9:00. Having done the southwest ridge twice now, I believe the descent of it to be one of the most heinous of any 14er route. Oy.

I know I should be in a food coma right now, but I didn't get much sleep at all in the last five hours. I guess there is such a thing as being "over-tired..."
