Voted for Winfield, but would also be up for Shavano.

I voted for Winfield but would be up for any of the choices except Willow Lake.

I don’t see Willow Lake as a good choice for a large group with varying abilities. Challenger can be easier with the right snow conditions. However with Challenger and Kit Carson, if the snow isn’t cooperative, a group climb could be asking for trouble.

In the Sawatch if you get off route by mistake or have to improvise because of conditions you usually have reasonable options. The Sangres are far less forgiving with route choices.

Willow Lake is a long hike in. Although often done as a day hike, many choose to backpack. This wouldn’t be compatible with everyone meeting up before or after. Plus they are a longer drive from the metro area.

I voted for N. Halfmoon Creek, been wanting to tackle Oklahoma for a while, there is also the French/Frasco/Casco combo that could be done as well. My 2nd vote would be for Winfield, I wouldn't mind hitting up North Apostle/Ice Mountain, and I would also be game for Mount Hope. My 3rd vote would be for for Kite Lake, I've done the Decalibron, but would like to hit up Mt. Buckskin.

Willow lake!!!!! Beautiful area, spectacular views, and awesome routes.
That's my preference, but it really doesn't matter to me where it takes place, as long as I can get some turns in.

Keith....from reading this thread, and the fact that this is a "Spring Gathering," meaning TO GATHER, then you just might want to go ahead and eliminate the Willow Lake option since that option will immediately cut down on the GATHERING. There are a lot of folks who aren't into to winter camping and backpacking in to overnight.

I voted for Winfield. I think a lot of people (especially the ladies) will appreciate having that little outhouse there at that camping/parking area. And there's lots of climbing options with both 14ers & 13ers in the neighborhood.

Looking forward to another one of theses!

Winfield for Hopeful unless I'm coerced to do Como Lake road again that weekend ](*,)

Methinks you can wait a bit longer to climb Blanca...

I added the event to the Climbing Calendar; I'm calling Winfield the official winner.
