(and yes, I'm still sad about the dates you picked)

An early May date might give us better access to more trailheads/campgrounds, so I'd be down for that idea.

I think I've mentioned this... EVERYBODY has to have an agenda...

If I change the poll now, all prior results will be lost. I will do so if that is what people would prefer. As of now, April 16 is running away with the poll.

No agenda, Keith, just a thought. I appreciate you organizing these. Maybe include a May date next year? :)

I second the motion for an early May date. I only voted for the 16th because it was the latest option posted. Nicer weather, nicer snow, what's not to like?

Keith, I am only doing this to complicate matters.
I vote early May. :D
And anywhere that there is snow that can be climbed.

All right, screw it... I'll re-do the poll. Here are the results as they stand currently, pre-implosion.

Keith, peer pressure is a horrible (but wonderful) thing, huh? ;)
If I voted, it would be either May date.
I will try to make either.

Thanks Keith! May 7th for me.

Keith....

Can you tell me what's the latest on the "official, unofficial, not sponsored by 14ers.com," Spring Gathering? Is this still on?

April 16th or May 07?

Is Kite Lake the location?

Thanks!

Bell Cord, any date in May. Plenty of fun partying in any of the parking lots. Some of us could actually even do the climb.

Looks like May 7 is the runaway winner at this point. I will say it one more time, the location should provide EVERYONE the opportunity to participate if they'd like. Meaning, easy routes available for the springtime/snow novice, with sufficient parking and trailhead accessibility. Snow climbs are great, but how many people really want to cram into a couloir with a whole bunch of other people? Perhaps the Angel would fit the bill, as that thing is wide enough and shallow enough for more people. As much as I detest Mt. Shavano from that approach... [-(

I agree with you Keith that the destination should fit all skill levels and have a variety of options.
I thought you were discussing Tenmile/Mosquito range anyway? Plenty of options around there for all skill levels. (e.g., Horseshoe's Boudoir, Democrat's N ridge &/or couloir, Lincoln via ice routes to Russian couloir, or the standard routes on anything in the area.)
One central location for camping/gathering, and groups can decide which route fits their skill level.
