Colorado Springs. Happy Hour Night?

Need a climbing partner? Trying to form a hiking group for an outing?

So it sounds like the 9th, but where?

I tried to get Steve to put it off till Dec 21 or after - as I want Wett/Unca this winter - but I guess no luck on that, huh?

I'm not up to driving down there on 11/12. But I'd be up for climbing something. It could still be hard. Maybe Maroon? Could be classy. Or something way easy like Sherman and get all of the Springs 14ers members on it that day.

I see no problem with the 9th at Phantom.

Thanks, Zack.

I'm game for the 9th. Though Rock Bottom has "more than a pint night" on Thursdays = cheaper beers.

The ninth sounds good to me, and Rock Bottom is only about 3 miles from my house, but I'm up for either place.

I'm a COS climber also... almost to 10 summits, all solo! My friends are lame  I vote on Phantom, but would like to have a few beers and meet some locals who climb too!

Cheaper beer = many beers = possible night in the city hotel = no good

I put a poll up to see where the majority wants to meet. I don't really care where so I won't vote.

Jim, I think we probably have different goals and interests.
I don't have the goal of hiking/climbing all the 14ers in winter, therefore I don't pay attention to the calendar date. And Maroon at this time of year doesn't hold much interest for me; hit me up in the spring when I have more confidence in a safe(r) consolidated snowpack and I'm all over it.
As for what peak to do for the aforementioned dates, I don't really care what it is, so long as I get above treeline.

I don't drink beer, so I don't care where either, so I didn't vote as well.

Hey all...it's be a LONG time since I've been active on 14ers.com, but thought I'd chip in my 2 pennies! Since I attended the last COS Happy Hour, I started working at Phantom Canyon...so I'm a bit biased as to where we go. I can probably score us some appetizer/beer specials though, if we organize it early enough in advance! Let me look into it, and I'll let you all know! Looking forward to meeting some of you, and reconnecting with others!
