Leki Trekking Pole Replacement Tip/Basket

Postby Kojones » Wed May 15, 2013 9:30 am

Howdy,

Went on a hike, and somehow the basket and tip of one of my Leki poles got lost. On Leki's website and at REI, they offer replacement baskets. Anybody know of a place to get the replacement tip piece? And a place to get it repaired professionally (since I want them to last another 5 years, and new equivalent poles are now 30% more expensive than when I bought them)?

Cheers,
Kojones

You can get the tips at REI:

Here's how to replace them. You can do it easily yourself.

I went into that basement rental/repair area of the REI Flagship store in Denver a year or two ago with the same problem, and they fixed it right there on the spot (replaced the bent tip) for free.

REI seriously rips you off on these. There is NO way these should be $20. You can get them for less than 1/2 the price here http://www.backcountrygear.com/leki-spare-flextip-black.html?gdftrk=gdfV25269_a_7c1641_a_7c6583_a_7cLEK9S10330_d_BLACK

Sweet. Glad I forgot to install them last night....

I guess I could wait another week before using the poles again.
