Sweet thread. Thanks for the inspiration Caleb and others. Time to go buy some peg board and work on organizing the gear room.

bought our house in july and the rather large laundry room downstairs now doubles as a gear room...also kept the old fridge and have it down here. best part is the pegboard wall that was prime to hang our gear on, got our packs, dog's pack, sleeping bags, snowshoes, skins, helmets, etc. hanging up. my skis and the wife's board are being tuned but hang out in the corner with her skis. boots on the floor. owners also left the cabinet that holds tents and all things camping/backpacking related as well as backcountry ski gear. nothing like roan mtn but we're quite happy with it.

One foot in and one foot back, but it don't pay to live like that.
So I cut the ties and I jumped the tracks, for never to return.

Pegboard is nice. I have some in my basement for gear and completely covered my garage walls with white pegboard. I didn't do much special for a gear room, improvements still in the works. Hung conduit from the ceiling for hanging clothes and packs. Set up 2 6' folding tables, added a few shelves, the counter space with pegboard behind was there when I bought the place. I was lucky to have the space, fortunately my wife had no use for it. A little messy at the moment though.

Took most of the 3 day weekend but I built myself a gear room in the basement. Still working on the area for the skis.

Looks awesome. Is that 19 packs on that wall?

I'm thinking some of these pictures will come in handy when I get busted trying to sneak in new gear.

Wow, I think Carl wins! Looks better than many gear shops I've been in =D> =D>

Nice Carl. That looks much better than the pile management system you had going before!

My word, Carl...impressive to say the least, bud. If I were sitting in that nice chair with a PBR, I would have to think twice about where I was - Carl's gear room or getting my Intuition liners molded at Neptune. Well done, dude.

Thanks guys. Definitely beats the pile management system. Except now it's easy for my wife to tell how many backpacks we own. And no I don't think I'll borrow her pink waist pack for Crestone Needle. Unfortunately it doesn't carry skis well.
