after viewing a lot of the posts on this thread, it seems to me a lot of people are seeking "solutions" after-the-fact....I learned early on in my military training (Airborne, Ranger) that one of the first things you do with any boots/shoes is to soak them in hot water for several hours (over-night?), put them on your feet, and walk in them for several hours while they are drying and fitting to your feet....unfortunately, this does NOT work for shoes/boots that are not correctly/properly fitted...

After the fact......pop the blister, apply anti-septic, and tape it up with duct tape....always carry an adequate suppy of duct tape on your hiking poles....duct tape can get you through some hairy situations.......
