interesting...you would never know it here in CO. Breweries here keep popping up and are being supported by the local population. I know of several craft breweries that had to pull distribution to some states because they couldn't keep up with demand locally.painless4u2 wrote:A disturbing trend:

Attempted Pyramid about 2 weeks ago. Upon my return a buddy thoughtfully gave me 6er of the below:
I look up to the mountains - does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! Psalm 121:1-2

As if none of us have ever come back with a cool, quasi-epic story instead of being victim to tragic rockfall, a fatal stumble, a heart attack, an embolism, a lightning strike, a bear attack, collapsing cornice, some psycho with an axe, a falling tree, carbon monoxide, even falling asleep at the wheel getting to a mountain. If you can't accept the fact that sometimes "s**t happens", then you live with the illusion that your epic genius and profound wilderness intelligence has put you in total and complete control of yourself, your partners, and the mountain. How mystified you'll be when "s**t happens" to you! - FM

Re: Favorite Beer?
Though I like almost all beers, I do agree with this article over the craft craziness with hops.

Re: Favorite Beer?
Have a buddy coming into town for the Phish shows who was recently forced to go Gluten Free. Anyone know of a good GF Pale Ale I can have waiting for him? I have had a GF lager that left something to be desired and am hoping there is something good around town that he will enjoy.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Favorite Beer?
One of the girls in my local beer club is celiac and she brings a different GF offering every week. The majority of Gluten free beers are made with sorghum which makes them lack mouthfeel and flavor. To be honest, 90% of them are just plain bad. But every now and then she stumbles across a good one.AndYouSeeMe wrote:Have a buddy coming into town for the Phish shows who was recently forced to go Gluten Free. The best I've had is Omission http://omissionbeer.com/. They use actual barley and then remove the gluten.
Not a pale ale, but Tweason'ale from Dogfish Head is near the top as well.
Edited to add one more:
The Dark Ale from Harvester Brewing is solid http://www.harvesterbrewing.com/our-beer though it may be tough to find.

Re: Favorite Beer?
Good article! No doubt hop-heads will disagree with the premise. I'm waiting for someone to come out with a beer called "buckets of hops" or "hops overload" much to my disgust.Dakota007 wrote:Though I like almost all beers, I do agree with this article over the craft craziness with hops.
