Golite Warehouse Sale!

Postby Cruiser » Thu Oct 25, 2007 9:53 pm

Nov. 2, 3, & 4 at the home office in Boulder. I'm going to be out of town this time. :( I hope that you folks are able to get up there and snag the deals. If you're planning on going Friday, I'd suggest getting there sometime Thursday night. The line wraps around the building Friday morning.

they do move the line pretty quickly and although I was some 200+ in line last year, I got everything I wanted and they still had more packs, etc on Sunday about 1 hour before the event was all over. If your looking for something super specific you might want to get there early ; but i can assure you that if you want a backpack of any kind, they will have 1000's and 1000's and there really is no need to get there THAT early. just my .02

I had just logged on to spread the word about the sale, too. I'll be there Saturday, I think.

Can anyone recommend/argue against the GoLite Inferno jacket? It's on sale for $80 (regularly $200) and is 800-fill goose down. I am looking for a good winter hiking jacket to wear under my GTX shell (I don't like the North Face Nuptse jacket b/c it's too bulky for me). Basically want to know if it's worthy or not before I wait in that attrocious line!!!!

Thanks!!

One person I work with at REI has one and she says that, while it's very light, there isn't enough down in the jacket to make it warm enough.

Robin,

if you lookin for a down thats not too thick, check out the REI generator one. Its 99$ (or 59$ for the same exact thing, just an 06' on REI outlet). Its kept me warm and we woke up to a foot of snow in the poudre a few weeks ago. Its not as thick as the nuptse, but still plenty warm, maybe check it out.

i suppose there is no way to get in on the sale without being there? can a person call and see what they have if you are out of state? i am interested in an enigma jacket.
