Wildfires: Links to Maps, etc.

Here are some links with more information on the Colorado wildfires:

http://www.inciweb.org (site sometimes slow or unresponsive)
http://activefiremaps.fs.fed.us/index.php
http://www.nifc.gov/nicc/sitreprt.pdf
http://goo.gl/maps/TJxh7 (CO fires on Google Maps)
WunderMap

The East Peak fire near East Spanish Peak isn't listed on inciweb yet.
Only SNOW will end the madness

I use http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap/ to check the smoke density from the fires. It has been recommended before here. Shows the active fires but the smoke layer too which is great. Just tossing it out there for anyone who hasn't saw it yet.

There's also a free Wildfire Info app for iPhone. I found it and used it on Sunday after seeing the huge fire near Pagosa. It's kind of cool- it maps all of the fires around your location, but (as usual) to get really detailed info you have to get the pay version. The free one is still helpful though.

More direct wunderground link: http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap/fire

Direct satellite imagery loop: http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/cp/flash-vis.html

Inciweb CO fires only: http://inciweb.org/state/6/

All these links courtesy of someone else posting them somewhere, of course.

Nope, none that I'm aware of.

Here's another smoke-plume mapper that uses NOAA satellites.
http://www.firedetect.noaa.gov/viewer.htm
Click on the left icons and you can select regions to zoom on. The right scroll box lets you add cities, roads, etc. Scroll down in it to get the refresh button.
