Chaffee County Road 306 (9/20)

I'd say it's near its peak. This weekend will be an excellent time to see the colors in the mountains.
It's a tough job, but someone has to photograph the mountain. www.MtPrinceton.org

Can anyone recommend some trails near Denver (within 45 mins) with some beautiful aspen scenery? Thanks.

Has anyone been or have any info of the current status on Kebler and Ohio pass? I want to catch them at their peak and I am trying to decide if I should go this weekend or next?

Thanks everyone!

these shots aren't of ohio/kebler, but up gothic road this evening while i was biking. In my opinion this is going to be the best weekend near CB for colors/weather + you have vinotok festival

Hey ajkagy,

Thanks for the info and pictures. I think you have convinced me to come up this weekend. The pictures look great and it looks like the haze that has been an issue in other parts of the state isn't too bad down there? Thanks again!!

...in autumn we are reminded that the emphasis is taken away from that which exposes itself on the surface, to the need to withdraw back to the fundamental root.

Sorry. Feeling a little philosophical tonight.

I'm spending the week driving around SW Colorado doing photographs for a new edition of a book. This upcoming weekend will be great on Keebler Pass and the Crested Butte area; Ouray to Silverton and south to Durango; Cottonwood Pass; and Grand Mesa. There is lots of great aspen color in the Telluride area, particularly up CO 145 to Lizard Head Pass, although a lot of groves are just starting to turn in places. Dallas Divide is mostly green and just starting to turn. Owl Creek Pass also has a ways to go . Both will be better in a week; don't count on getting any good images at Dallas Divide this weekend...

Agreed. I think I will be hitting Kebler Pass this weekend. Anyone want to meet up? =)
