Yeah, we've been getting some haze lately, including today. That shot is on the rec path between town and the mountain. The "welcome to mount crested butte" sign is just to the right of the frame, if you know where that is.

Thanks for the suggestions :) I think I will do La Plata on Sunday. I really want to do the Ridge but my friend I don't think will go for it. Hopefully standard route is still a good hike!

I was going to head to Aspen and possibly CB this weekend, but it's very hazy up in Steamboat from the Wyoming wildfires. Air Quality Forecast (http://airquality.weather.gov/sectors/centrockies.php) predicts the surface/vertical smoke to start heading south tonight/tomorrow. Can anyone report if it's been hazy down in Aspen or CB so far? It's been terribly so here in the Boat.

there's been a slight haze in the air in CB the past week or so, but it hasn't been bad. Sounds like the NW flow that's bringing in the smoke will persist through the weekend until a SW flow brings in a low pressure system to clear out the smoke.

I know this picture doesn't do it justice, but the entire north side of the road between Keystone and Montezuma is just lit up right now with gorgeous yellow shades:

Anybody know if the San Juans (Dallas Divide) are making any headway? It's almost October!

I just climbed Sneffels yesterday and did some driving. Ouray County 5 and 7 (Dallas Creek road) are starting to look good, although not yet peak. Hardly any color yet on Last Dollar Road on the way to Telluride. Big Cimmaron Road to Silver Jack Reservoir looks good, still not yet peak either. Million Dollar Highway above Ouray has quite a bit of color. Hope that helps. I'll post a few pics after I get them uploaded.

Fantastic shots Vermont Mike especially the first one!

Just wondering if you have a smudge on your lens or something wrong with the sensor?

Thanks! Yeah I had a smudge on the UV filter on my lens that I didn't notice until afterwards. Ah well, not like I was going to frame 'em or anything. :-D
