The one he linked to in his first post is Ice Lakes basin.

The first pic that he placed in his second post is Wilson Peak.

That is Island Lake below U.S. Grant peak (out of the pic to the right) in Ice Lakes Basin. Here is an article on getting to it. It's definitely one of those must see places in Colorado.

Wow, these are great - the one of Hallett shows the power of ice with the scoured valley to the right. Glaciers now vanished of course, but what detail!

Let's see if I can remember...

Tripod on North Eolus at sunrise... 3 photos x 3 exposures, raw format; combined HDR and then adjusted in Lightroom. Sounds about right.
