Photography Classes

Postby zoriloco » Wed Aug 24, 2011 9:01 am

Good day everyone,

Not sure if this is the right area to post but here it goes. My wife is interested in taking some photography classes but she has only been able to find College Classes that at the moment are completely out of our budget. I remember Emily Griffith used to give classes but thats no longer the case. Is there any other place where you can go to and wont cost us an arm and a leg?

Thanks!

You can try www.ppsop.com. I subscribe to their site just for the weekly tips but their online classes seem very good. I just haven't spent the money yet. I have read several of Bryan Peterson's books and find his style very informative and easy to understand. Understanding exposure is a great book for beginnners/intermediates. I am far from an expert but reading this as well as all the tips and just surfing the internet for ideas has helped me a lot.

Also if you look on line for specific elements of photography you will more than likely find a tutorial on that subject. Also look at http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/.

Hope this helps.

I bought a Groupon for a photography place in Lakewood a few week back. Place is called Working with Artists. http://www.workingwithartists.org/ I haven't taken the class yet but if it's any good I'll post back with a recommendation.

The class I signed up for isn't for a few more weeks, but there is another groupon for a different phtoography class if you're interested.

Grab a copy of Outdoor Photographer and you will turn up a ton of classes, websites, books, etc. With or without the classes, a subscription to O.P. (at $12.97/year) is almost mandatory to keep current.
