Dunton Road Conditions

Post by dweiss2 »

Last summer I backpacked up Kilpacker trail to Navajo Lake and on our way out, we noticed that part of the road had partially washed out between Navajo Lake Trailhead and Kilpacker Trailhead. It was wide enough for my truck to get by, but appeared too narrow for my trailer. I am hoping to get my trailer up there in a few days and contacted the Forest service to check if it had been fixed. They said it had but recommended not bringing up a trailer, but did not specify their reasons. Has anyone been up there recently that can tell me if the washout has been fixed, or if it is still very narrow between Kilpacker and Navajo. Thanks.
