Grassy Gulch/Chaffee County Road 349
Anyone driven up this 4WD road in the past couple years? Looking to attempt Jones Mountain in a few weeks and will have a couple flatlanders along who would prefer to shorten the hike distance by driving up the mining road. I read a report from 2009 that seemed doable, just wondering if I'd have trouble in a stock Xterra.

As of ~2 years ago, it was a bit rough, but should be doable with care in an Xterra.nedryarson wrote:Anyone driven up this 4WD road in the past couple years? I was up it last year doing Jones and although rough, there were no ledges or tricky obstacles. I was in a stock Tacoma. Take your fishing poles and let the flatlanders fish at Ptarmigan Lake. Gorgeous.
