@kush did you write it? Brought a tear to my eye, it is a beautiful poem. I hope the family finds peace eventually, my thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

A horrible and sobering event. RIP to the fallen mountaineer. Thanks to all who helped with the rescue.

Me and "BrettCallahan" wrote the post Sunday evening regarding the missing back-pack we had located on the backside of Capital in hopes of connecting a missing item with it's owner....

We are so sad to hear of this tragedy... We only wish we could of gotten closer to the back-pack and maybe have somehow helped in this situation......

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family...

Another incredibly sad day in the mountains. That there were no serious injuries in what sounds like a dangerous recovery is just a small blessing.

My deepest sympathies to Jim's family and friends. And the loss to our community. Kudos to MRA and HAATS.

broncotw/BrettCallahan - way to go with sharing info about the backpack. Some wouldn't have thought twice about abandoned gear. Just a few minutes of time helped return a man to his family.

Hungry Jack - there are a ton of marmots up there hungry for destruction. Hand grip of one of my hiking poles became victim to the K2 marmots last Thursday. They destroy and scatter belongings like nobody's business.

very sad outcome...my sincerest sympathies and prayers to the family...

I'm glad someone was searching/scouring the area for personal items....

as FYI, I always have RoadID tags attached to my 14er day pack and to my body.....in the unfortunate event I may take a fatal fall, at least the recovery team will know who I am and who to contact....

He was trying to hit several peaks in one day. These were among the last of the Colorado 14ers for him. Thanks to those who responded to this thread, providing a clue that led to Jim's body being found on Wednesday.
