Was in the Sawatch today and had clouds all day. Thought of going for the triple with Mizzou, Bel-Ox, but just got Mizzou, didn't trust the weather and a late start. Hopefully everything turns out Okay on Capitol.

Re: Capitol Peak Rescue at 14,000ft?
Update on KRDO's Facebook page says the person is suffering from hypothermia and they are waiting for weather to clear for a Blackhawk to help extract.
There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.

Man, not the best peak to be hypothermic on... Praying for all involved! Get warm and come home safely!

Not a mountain you want to get stuck on and not be able to safely get down from. Glad to hear of the successful rescue and prayers for a good recovery for the subject rescued!

I'm curious to hear what happened.
Seemed like a lot of years went by and there weren't any incidents on Capitol, and now two this year.

Re: Capitol Peak Rescue at 14,000ft?
We were on Capitol yesterday (Friday). First ones up and second down, everyone we passed seemed to be doing ok. There was a small plane flying around the area around 9:30 as we were recrossing the knife edge. Im curious which person it was and exactly what time it happened. It was cloudy the whole morning, then the sun broke for a while in the afternoon as we were walking out. Hope they are ok.
